Murder in Lezhe, police suspects retaliation

One person has been killed today by firearm in Lezha, while police forces are working to find the authors. Preliminary investigations show that the motive could be retaliation, since the victim has a long criminal history.

He was arrested in 2006 together with his nephew for the murder of Zef Biba and Eleni Hoxha. This is the murder for which police believes he has been killed for.

The v ictim, Ludovik Ujka, was sentenced by the Court of First Instance and the Court of Appeal to 25 years in prison.

But in 2007, the Supreme Court rejected both verdicts and returned the case at the Court of First Instance.

One of the arguments used by the Supreme Courts for rejecting the verdicts was about the interrogation of a witness and her answer on the fact if the car lights were on or off in the vehicle used by the authors to leave the scene.
